Dyan Burlingame is a Freelance Scenographer and Educator. She is the resident set designer for Road Less Traveled Productions, and the resident lighting designer for Neglia Ballet Artists. Dyan has also designed for The Kavinoky Theatre, Muiscalfare, Shea’s Theatre, Shakespeare in Delaware Park, Irish Classical Theatre Company, The New Phoenix Theatre, UB Center for the Arts, Artpark, City of Night Buffalo, Hallwall’s Artists and Models, Buffalo Botanical Gardens, and Mass Appeal. Nationally, Dyan has designed for BAV Services, and the Honolulu Theatre for Youth. She was recently the Company Manager and Charge Scenic Artist for the exhibit installation team representing the United States at the Prague Quadrennial of Performance Design and Space in Prague, Czech Republic.

Dyan is a Clinical Associate Professor of Design & Technology in the Department of Theatre and Dance at the University at Buffalo.

Her design work strives to create detailed and evocative environments for characters to inhabit, with an emphasis on sustainable practices and greener theatre initiatives.

She holds a BA in Theatrical Design with a Minor in Archaeology from the University at Buffalo and a MFA in Stage Design from Southern Methodist University.
